Our Lady (Pristine)

Our Lady (Pristine) honors the legacy of motherhood. A custom in my childhood church was wearing a red rose on Motherís Day Sunday if oneís mother was here on earth, and a white rose if oneís mother was in heaven. The labyrinthine structure of the Pristine rose supports feminine words and symbols: A crowned button is flanked by votive cherubs, and a demure Botticelliís Venus is stamped into the lower left corner. The collaged plate is the famous Blue Willow pattern, relating a tale of tragic, immortal love.
